Where is the best onshore place to catch edible /samphire in the south east!!?

Hi, I get sea sick just looking at a boat and I am knocking on a bit. When I was in Devon recently a chap advised me that you can still get reasonable sized edible if you use fish as a bait and you go where there is human activity. I remember looking off some pier somewhere and seeing large in the water, I think either Bournemouth or Brighton. Can anyone advise me? Does anyone know anywhere else I can catch edible of a reasonable size? I gather they need to be over 100 mm.....also does anyone know a good place for collecting samphire? Obvously the water needs to be clean. Cheers
