How safe will i be in guatemala?

I am a 18 year old girl traveling to Guatemala my boyfriend moved there and i am going to stay with HIM for 11 days his hole family is there i will be staying there, i will flying ALON and walking the airport alon he and his family will be waiting there. i am very scared of the airport i have been reading VERY scary stories his family has money i wil never be alon. please be honest will i be safe? tell me any advice please.
