Can I travel with a visa that has incorrect pport info on it? Please help!!?

At the beginning of the year I lost my pport and student visa to go to school in Canada. I got a new pport and sent forms in to get a new visa paper. I got it back and everything was fine and dandy until I looked at the number on the visa and it was not the number for the new pport. These idiots actually gave me a visa with the lost/cancelled pport number printed back on it instead of the new one! I've been trying to get a corrected one for months now, and it's very frustrating because it's extremely hard to contact these people. Right now I'm screwed because school started a few days ago, and I really need to be there. My question to you is, do you think I can still travel on this visa with the old pport number printed on it ? I have traveled to Canada a few times now, maybe they have my visa info in the records and they will just let me through? Please, no criticism about me losing it in the first place. I just need help.
