Pedophile priests or BTK?

Why do people emphasize misbehavior by pedophile priests to bring down the whole Catholic church and faith but gloss over the fact that all religions harbor predators such as BTK(his own moniker for bind them, torture them, kill them) that was in the high hierarchy of his protestant (Lutheran) church?
